SIMMENTAL - pure flame
Simmental is an unscented tallow candle from Tallowmar that brings a calm and natural light to the room. Like the golden-red-white Simmental cattle breed from the Swiss mountains, this candle is strong, balanced and soft in nature. One ingredient, no fragrances or dyes. Only pure flame.
Why choose a beef tallow candle?
– Clean and simple composition. My beef tallow candle has only one ingredient - 100% tallow. No fragrances or colors are added, so you know exactly what's burning.
– Friendly to people who are senstitive for aromas. An unscented candle does not add aroma mixtures to the room; during combustion, the air is neutral and the attention remains on a calm fire.
– Focus on fire, not smell. This candle is designed for when you want a quiet, even flame - evening rituals, meditation, reading, dining or work table.
– A sustainable choice. I use natural raw materials and value the by-product; the glass jar is reusable or recyclable.
– Local handicrafts. I cast in small batches in Estonia, which means care, transparency and stable quality.
– Smooth, warm light. Tallow's natural properties provide a soft, soothing fire. Keep the wick 5-7 mm and burn without drafts, so the flame stays even.
– Visual peace. Unscented "pure flame" does not compete with food, flowers or room aromas; suitable for any interior and event.
– A conscious choice compared to scented candles. If you are looking for light without additional scent, a tallow candle is a simple and safe alternative - the goal is the light itself, not to scent the room.
Use and care tips
– On the first burn, let the tallow melt evenly to the edge to avoid "tunneling".
– Cut the wick to a length of 5-7 mm before each lighting.
– Burn the candle on a heat-resistant base and keep away from drafts.
– When the flame is smoking, cut the wick a little shorter.
Composition and technical data
– Ingredients: tallow
– Smell: unscented
– Capacity: 50g and 100g
– Made: in Estonia, by hand
Safety
– Do not leave a burning candle unattended.
– Keep away from children and pets.
– Keep the candle away from flammable objects.
– To finish with a faded flame, cover the flame with an extinguishing hood; by blowing the candle, you might splash hot grease.
Burning time
The burning time of a 50g candle is about 7-10 hours, the burning time of a 100g candle is about 14-17 hours (depends on cutting the wicks, room temperature and draft). Burn for up to 1-3 hours at a time and cut the wick to 5-7 mm before lighting.
A sustainable choice
I use natural tallow - it's a byproduct enhancement. The candle is unscented, the glass jar is reusable or recyclable. When the candle has burned down to the end, remove the residue with warm water and a drop of dish soap and give the jar a new lease of life.
Recommendation
– On the first burn, let the candle burn for 1-2 hours, until the top surface melts evenly to the edge - this way you avoid "tunneling".
– From now on, burn for 1-3 hours at a time; keep the wick 5-7 mm. When the flame is smoking, cut the wick a little shorter.
– Keep the candle cool and away from the sun. Tallow may soften above 25°C - this is normal.
– For an evening ritual of peace: light the Simmental for 30-60 minutes, take time out and pamper the skin with Galloway body butter
– Gift idea: suitable for smell-sensitive, new parents and those who value silence, simplicity and a plastic-free lifestyle.
