DEXTER – beef tallow soap with lemongrass essential oil
Zesty, fresh, and with just the right amount of character.
DEXTER tallow soap with lemongrass is for those who want a little extra freshness in their washing routine. Lemongrass essential oil gives the soap a zesty, citrusy aroma, making it a great choice for a morning shower, a post-workout refresh, or everyday use.
The name Dexter suits this soap well—small, yet full of character. The soap itself doesn't need a complex formula or an overpowering scent to get noticed. It is a simple beef tallow soap, with lemongrass adding just the right amount of zest.
I handcraft DEXTER in Estonia in small batches. The soap’s primary ingredient is purified beef tallow and lemongrass essential oil gives it a fresh, distinctively recognizable scent.
Why choose DEXTER beef tallow soap with lemongrass?
The composition of this soap is simple and each ingredient has its own function.
Beef tallow gives the soap firmness, good durability, and a pleasantly creamy feel during use.
Castor oil contributes to the formation of a soft and richer foam.
Natural glycerin It is formed during the saponification process and remains in the handmade soap. It contributes to that pleasant feel that makes me love beef tallow soaps so much.
Lemongrass essential oil gives DEXTER a zesty, fresh, and citrusy aroma.
Nothing superfluous – simply a well-blended soap with a bit more character.
One soap, multiple possibilities
DEXTER is suitable for use:
✔ for washing the body
✔ for washing hands
✔ for washing hair
✔ for washing the beard
✔ for shaving
So, a single soap can handle quite a few tasks. This makes DEXTER a convenient companion for the gym, the sauna, or travel—fewer bottles, fewer things to pack.
DEXTER for washing hair
Tallowmari soaps can also be used to wash your hair, but if you have previously used liquid shampoo, washing with soap might feel quite different at first.
At first, your hair may feel heavier, frizzier, or "squeaky." The results are influenced by hair type, water hardness, previous hair care products, and your own washing routine.
I have written about this in more detail in a blog post. "Confused about which soap to choose?"
If you wish, you can use an acidic rinse after washing:
1–2 tsp apple cider vinegar + 0.5 l cool water.
Pour the mixture over your hair as a final rinse.
How to use DEXTER beef tallow soap?
Wet your skin, hair, or beard. Lather the soap between your hands or directly on the area to be washed, and massage the resulting foam into your skin or hair. Rinse thoroughly.
To shave, lather the soap between your hands and apply the foam to your skin.
Leave the soap to dry after use onto the soap dish, where the water can drain away freely. This way, the handmade soap lasts longer.
Who is DEXTER suitable for?

- you love fresh and citrusy scents;
- you want one soap for multiple purposes;
- you value simple ingredients and craftsmanship;
- looking for something more invigorating for your morning shower;

I bought beef tallow soap with lemon grass at the fair. After a few uses, I knew I would continue to buy it. Great soap. Leaves the skin soft, also very suitable for the intimate area.
